The tasks a Net Maker is expected to perform include:Making fishing nets and mending torn or worn out nets

Fabricating nets to required measurements to catch different types of fishes

Removing weeds entangled in nets

Spreadingthe nets on shore for drying

Using different knots for making nets

Tying new floats or weights to nets

Fishing in deep sea or inland waters using different kinds of nets, if required

Assisting the Fishermen in dragging the net with catch to shore after fishing, if required

Knowledge of different types of nets

Knowledge of the types of net required for capturing specific fish Proficient in making and mending nets

Skilled in different types of knots made in nets

Basic knowledge of fishing

Working hours

The job of the Net Maker/Mender is important for the fisheries sector. The net is the most vital equipment used for fishing. The demand for Net Maker/Mender is recurring in nature as the life of nets is not very long. The nets need regular maintenance in the form of repairs.
