The tasks a Yard Officer is expected to perform include:Managing and monitoring fish curing process

Checking the weight of fish received for curing

Issuing prescribed quantity of salt for curing and guiding curing as necessary

Overseeing drying and packing of cured fish

Directing fish meal preparations

Maintaining technical laboratory and supervising laboratory staff

Collecting fish statistics in assigned area

Knowledge of fish preservation and protection techniques

Knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols

Skilled in fish meal preparation, storing, sorting and transportation

Knowledge of the latest developments in fish curing, preservation techniques, fish meal preparation, etc. Proficient in basic arithmetic

Familiar with fish yard management Familiar with yard accounting and record maintenance

BFSc or MFSc
