The tasks a Warehouse Binner is expected to perform include:

Preparing and performing binning, post binning and carrying out housekeeping and post housekeeping activities

Receiving all packages and checking them for errors

Pre-packing packages before storing

Locating bay area and binning products from the pick list and storing them on shelves

Checking binned items for errors and reporting the status of binned inventory to the supervisor

Complying with the safety, security and maintenance regulations

Knowledge of the types of products and goods being handled, binning and stock recording methods

Working knowledge of technology/equipment used for scanning products and binning goods

Understanding the methods, sequence and materials for cleaning variety of surfaces, equipment and machinery

Understanding the importance of appropriate personal protective equipment for the work area

In-depth knowledge of the procedures for disposing waste, disposing or storing equipment, reporting unidentified soiling, etc.

Occupational Hazards

Injury while handling sharp and heavy objects, pallet trolleys, etc. may occur while working in a warehouse

Health Risks

Exposure to harmful materials, chemicals, gases, etc. may cause respiratory and other disorders

For freshers - 5,000 to 10,000 per month

For candidates with upto 2 yearsexperience - 10,000 to 12,500 per month

For candidates with over 2 yearsexperience 12,500 to 30,000 per month

The unorganised sector will continue to dominate accounting for around 90% of the industry by 2015. Of the organised sector, the industrial segment will constitute a higher share of warehousing demand, viz. engineering, pharmaceutical and electronics goods.
