The tasks a Hair Stylist is expected to perform include:Styling hair according to the latest style, period, or character portrayal

Following instructions of patron make-up artist or script

Questioning patron or reading instructions of make-up artist or script to determine hairdressing requirements

Knowledge of facial features of patron or performing artist

Proficient in arranging, shaping and trimming hair to achieve desired effect, and also using fingers, combs, barber scissors, hair-waving solutions, hairpins and other accessories

Adept with dyeing, tinting, bleaching, curling or waving hair as required

Well-versed with creating new style especially for patron

Knowledge of cleaning and styling wigs

Proficient in styling hairpieces

Working hours

Working hours are for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from salon to salon

This job is not considered hazardous or dangerous under The Factories Act, 1948 (section 87)Health risks include exposure to chemical agents found in keratin treatments and hair dyes, exposure to scissors, inhalation of spray and solvents, etc.Occupational hazards include musculoskeletal problems, respiratory problems, back pain, headaches, allergic reactions, fungal infections, etc.

For freshers - INR 5,000 to INR 7,000 per month For candidates with 2 - 4 years of experience or more - INR 12,000 to INR 15,000 per month(This figure are indicative and subject to change)
