Minimum MBA in Human Resources

Minimum experience of 8 to 12 years in the relevant field

The tasks an Employment Officer is expected to perform include:

Managing the Employment Exchange by carrying out placements and all other related activities

Conducting interviews of all employment seekers to obtain factual details of job experience, training obtained, etc.

Registering all the employment seekers for placement against vacancies notified by employers

Selecting and registering the applicants with appropriate qualifications specified for vacancies

Directing or submitting the particulars of applicants to employers

Maintaining liaison with trade unions and employing organizations

Providing notification of vacancies in all the local employment market

Maintaining contacts with local sources of labour supply and with mobile personnel in other places by circulating particulars of vacancies

Counselling the applicants on employment opportunities available

Suggesting suitable training and necessary mobility for early employment

Participating in career conferences

Submitting statistical and ad hoc reports

Conducting inspection of different sections and exchanges, as prescribed

Conducting local labour market surveys

Studying the trends in employment opportunities

Providing expert advice to employers regarding availability of different categories of personnel and sources of labour supply

Carrying out special surveys and research on subjects connected with employment and manpower planning

Skilled in carrying out placements and all other employment related activities

Proficiency in taking interviews of employment seekers

Skilled in writing job description and requirements

Knowledge of the appropriate qualifications specified for different vacancies

Ability to maintain liaison with trade unions and employing organisations

Ability to maintain contacts with local sources of labour supply

Proficiency in making statistical reports

Ability to understand the trends in employment opportunities

Skilled in using MS Office Applications (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)

Knowledge of systems such as ISO, OSHAS and TPM environment
