The tasks an Anatomist, Medical is expected to perform include:

Studying structure of human body and its parts to ascertain their position, function and relation to each other

Providing basic knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of human disease

Examining organs of body and its minute structures, tissues, cell, etc. using microscope

Preparing slides of different tissues for histological study

Studying growth and development of human and other mammalian embryo by utilizing X-ray, bio- and cyto-chemical methods

Publishing the research findings in medical journals, papers, etc.

Specializing in any branch of anatomical study such as neuro-anatomy, embryology, anthropology, surgical anatomy, etc.

Undertaking research on problems in field of biological sciences

Knowledge of all the laboratory equipment

Skilled in dissecting organs, tissues and cells

Knowledge of performing tests on humans, animals and plants

Basic knowledge of diagnosis and treatment procedures
