Minimum MBBS

Preferably minimum experience of 1 to 5 years in relevant field

The tasks a Surgeon, General is expected to perform include:

Diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases or disorders of human body by both prescribing medicines and surgical operations

Determining nature and extent of injury or ailments for treatment by medicine, through local application or operation

Getting patient X-rayed or histo-pathologically examined in serious and complicated cases

Deciding patient?s ability to withstand surgical operation

Obtaining written permission from legal heir of patient before undertaking major operation for personal safeguards against death of the patient

Ensuring that all precautions have been taken before operation

Administering drugs and anaesthetics as per the requirement and status of the patient

Obtaining opinion of other specialists before diagnosis and performance of major operations

Specializing in thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, etc.

Detailed knowledge of anaesthetics and drugs, prescribed to the patients

Knowledge of Ministry of Health (Mo

H) policies and general system of health management

Proficient in examining patients and conducting blood test

Skilled in science such as biology, human anatomy and biochemistry

Proficient in examining patients and conducting blood tests

Knowledge of all the potential side effects associated with a particular drug and informing the patient accordingly

Skilled in using medical equipment and instruments
