The tasks a Prototyping Manager is expected to perform include:

Managing prototyping operations to achieve leadership in prototype development

Staying up-to-date on technological advancements with prototyping software and hardware

Managing end-to-end project delivery as a team lead within the cross functional team

Ensuring the deployment, motivation, skills improvement and overall management of the team

Creating and sustaining a safe, clean and environment-friendly workplace

Maintaining the sorting, streamlining, storage, standardization and sustenance standard across the premise

In-depth understanding of prototyping, testing, homologation and the validation process

Knowledge of computer tools, information systems and simulation software used in prototyping

Ability to operate various machining-related tools

Ability to read and interpret various 2D, 3D and line sketch drawings

Ability to visualize the final product output

Detailed knowledge of various project management techniques and different R&D processes

Understanding the fundamentals of the financial and budgeting process and overall team management factors like performance, shift roster, grievance, etc.

Thorough knowledge of processes pre and post prototyping

Training in

FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)

The Automotive Mission Plan for the period of 2006-2016 aims to make India emerge as a global automotive hub.
