Minimum ? ITI graduate degree

Minimum 0-2 years of experience in relevant field

The tasks an Assembler, Stationary Diesel Engine is expected to perform include:

Assembling stationary diesel engine from finished components, making adjustments, setting alignments, clearances, etc. and ensuring stipulated performance

Placing diesel engine block on jig or other fixture using hoisting equipment

Collecting various parts like nuts, bolts, washers, etc. from nearby bins and fitting or screwing them to cylinder head

Checking assembled units or parts at every stage for prescribed accuracy, alignment, tolerance, etc. using special tools

Recording part number fitted or assembled to engine block and noting factual details or position regarding clearances, adjustments, etc.

Placing assembled engine at central places for engine test

Conducting engine test on dynamo meter and noting actual tuning conditions and making necessary adjustments

Overhauling and repairing engines or other components

Knowledge of operating the stationary diesel engine

Skilled in assembling and fitting the machinery parts according to the specification

Ability to carry the assembling operations following all the health and safety measures

Ability to understand blueprints and engineering drawings

Skilled in troubleshooting the machine

Knowledge of the adequate ways of examining the machine and its parts for proper functioning

Familiar with all the cleaning methods in order to clean the shafts, pistons, etc.

Ability to improvize and make alterations in fitting

Knowledge of all the parts of the engine, such as radiator, water pump, shafts, etc.

Skilled in testing the engine once the assembling and fitting process is completed
