Plastic Moulding Technician Moulding Operator Jobs

Minimum ? ITI Mechanical graduate

Certified training for Plastic Moulding Technician or Operator (programme aligned to ASC/Q4401 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

Minimum 2-3 years? experience in moulding or L3 Moulding Technician certificate

The tasks a Plastic Moulding Technician or Operator is expected to perform include:Arranging the required raw materials and tools for the moulding process

Managing the specifications of plastic and its granules

Setting up and operating the moulding machinery Feeding the granules as per requirement

Monitoring process parameters like temperature, pressure, etc.Performing visual inspection of the output products Ensuring that the dimensions of the output product matches the instructions given

Cleaning the equipment and moulding die Documenting the entire process of moulding operations Conducting minor repair on output parts, if required

Knowledge of the different parameters pertinent to the moulding process

Familiar with the impact of different parameters on the process output

Knowledge of various types of plastics and the additives to be used with them

Familiar with different types of tools and machinery used to mould the plastic

Knowledge of different types of tools and machinery used to trim the output

Basic knowledge of various types of coolants and their properties

Skilled in geometry and dimension measurement of the product output

Ability to read sketches and engineering drawings

Skilled in visualizing the final product output and deciding the necessary steps to be followed

Basic knowledge of the different types of cleaning techniques of the equipment and moulding processes involved

Proficiency in using measuring instruments

Basic knowledge of reading panels, indicators, etc. to monitor the process

Knowledge of the different types of moulding processes and associated equipment

Familiar with moulding defects and ways to prevent them

Knowledge of the safety processes for handling hot molten plastics

Basic knowledge of methods to identify quality defects in work pieces

Familiar with the quality standards used in the organization

Manual dexterity

Physically fit

Training in:Latest moulding techniques and methodologies Properties of different plastic materials

Safety and 5S

Good communication and co-ordinating skills
