Electroplating Technician Surface Treatment Technician

Certified training for Surface Treatment Technician Level 4 (programme aligned to ASC/ Q3801 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

Minimum 3-4 years in a mechanical/painting process

The tasks a Surface Treatment Technician Level 4 is expected to perform include:Conducting electroplating, powder coating and anodising operations for the vehicle

Procuring the equipment and material required to complete the task

Loading the material into the machine Conducting the pre-treatment processes like degreasing, de-rusting and rinsing Preparing the machine, auxiliaries and work pieces for the surface treatment processes

Cleaning the equipment used in surface treatment activities

Knowledge of different types of surface treatment processes and associated equipment

Basic knowledge of the upkeep and maintenance of tools and equipment required

Familiar with the method of reading and interpreting the various gauges, equipment and indicators

Knowledge of the chemicals? chemical properties

Ability to visualize the final product output

Basic knowledge of the impact of various physical parameters like temperature, pressure, electric current, voltage on the properties of final output product

Familiar with the hazards and safety aspects involved in surface treatment activities and usage of relevant PPEs

Knowledge of raw materials , various chemicals and additives used in the process

Basic knowledge of norms to handle and discharge the chrome

Knowledge of electrolyte solution and its various properties

Skilled in operating the machine at automatic and manual mode

Knowledge of handling electrical equipment, circuits, rectifiers and control panel

Basic knowledge of measuring the correct specifications of the output in the terms of thickness, hardness, durability, etc.

Knowledge of 5S procedures

Training in: Different plating techniques used in organizations

Quality management

ITI graduate with knowledge in Electroplating/Painting Technology

Working hours

Working is 9 hours every day for 6 days a week
