The tasks a Parquetry Floor Layer is expected to perform include:

Laying all kinds of ornamental parquetry floor designs according to lay-outs furnished by Architect

Covering sub-floor with building paper or other material to protect wood from moisture

Nailing wood flooring according to design if necessary by further tooling to suit dimensions

Knowledge in studying design and shapes and the finish required by the type of wood

Proficient securing floor to mastic or asphalt base without using nails

Well-versed in hammering narrow strips of wood into place on asphalt-mastic base
