The tasks that a Tile Setter is expected to perform include:Installing, maintaining and repairing parquet and other kinds of flooring

Fitting and setting tiles to walls, floors and ceilings

Soaking tiles in water to prepare them for setting

Applying mortar or cement coat over wall with trowel and laying tiles aligned in rows

Checking alignment of tiles laid

Making adjustments if necessary and taping them with trowel handle to get them set firmly

Sprinkling dry cement over freshly laid concrete for laying floor tiles and ensuring proper bond between cement and tiles

Cutting and shaping tiles for corner pieces, filling gaps with cement as necessary and ensuring proper joining setting alignment

Erecting scaffolding for setting ceiling tiles

Competent in applying tile or marble to ceilings and walls of buildings

Equipped to install decorative concrete mixture in floor at schools, offices and hospitals

Competent in measuring and cutting tiles according to specifications

Well-versed in creating plaster mixture and applying to wall

Competent in pressing tiles onto plaster mixture

Proficient in squeezing special mix between slabs

Competent in smoothing and finishing mixture

Ability to use caulking guns or putty knives

Good hand-eye co-ordination
