Minimum ? Preferably Bachelor?s Degree/Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering

Certified training for Area Parts Manager (programme aligned to ASC/Q 0605 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

No prior experience is required for candidates with ASDC Area Parts Manager certificate or Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 1 year of experience is required for other candidates

The tasks an Area Parts Manager is expected to perform include:

Managing and ensuring the movement of spare parts for the assigned area

Driving the sales of parts through planning and developing targets for a particular area

Organizing spare parts? planning and monitoring, including sales records

Monitoring the sale and profit of spare parts along with managing the claim settlement across the channel partner

Maintaining total customer satisfaction

Resolving complete customer queries, issues and complaints on a timely basis

Supervising the settlement of warranty claims

Basic knowledge of dealers in a particular area and their previous sales pattern

Knowledge of how to measure and calculate the previous year?s performance of OEM

Skilled in planning targets for the next cycle

Knowledge of preparing profit and loss statement

Familiarity with the cost price of spare parts and their MRP pricing methodology

Basic knowledge of the applicable sales tax and excise duty structure depending on the inter or intra state transport

Knowledge of the minimum stock level required to be maintained

Familiarity with storage regulations depending on parts requirement

Familiarity with FIFO (First In First Out) method of spare parts movement

Knowledge of planning the spare parts availability by calculating the annual and monthly spare parts sales, fast moving and slow moving sales ratio, etc.

Basic knowledge of how to monitor the time required to pack spare parts, quality of packaging required and timely delivery

Knowledge of packaging guidelines of different types of spare parts

Knowledge of the warranty policy applicable to a particular part

Knowledge of the technical specifications of various OEM vehicles

Basic knowledge of detailed technical and performance specifications of the auto component for various OEM vehicles

Familiarity with the software or format used to record Customer Relationship Management (CRM) within the organization

Skilled in MS Office and Management Information System

On-the-job training for ASDC Area Parts Manager certificate holders

Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical
