R.M.S Mail Agent

The tasks a Mail Guard is expected to perform include:

Taking custody of mail bags, parcels, etc. from local mail vans and in-coming trains carrying mail at Railway Station

Delivering parcels, mail bags, etc. for onward despatch

Checking seals, labels for any tampering

Proficient in preparing mail list of bags, parcels etc. to be transferred

Adept at obtaining signatures of recipient

Well-versed in reporting irregularities concerning mail to superior officers

Knowledge of performing other duties such as receipt, sorting and despatch of mailed articles in RMS office at Railway Stations

Knowledge of travelling in train to collect and deliver mail bags at intermediate station

Good physical health

Good mental health

Flexible for spending long days away from home

Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week
