Preferably minimum 3-5 years of experience required

The tasks a Marker (Sports) is expected to perform include:

Marking and maintaining athletic tracks and courts for various sports events and games

Measuring and marking out ground/courts according to specifications using measuring tape, lime powder or chalk

Supervising cleaning, sweeping, lining and rolling of cricket pitch, hockey or football fields, tennis or badminton courts, sport tracks, etc.

Maintaining billiard table by periodical ironing of cushion surface and marking out playing and scoring lines

Attending court and field events, following game in progress and supplying sporting gear and equipment when necessary

Exhibiting scoring board and notes

Announcing scoring points of players

Collecting charges or fees for game, where prescribed and accounting for it to superiors

Maintaining sports equipment like cricket bats, badminton and tennis racquets, nets, posts, etc.

Providing practice to players or teaching game to beginners

Knowledge of field requirements for different sports

Skilled in watering the ground before a match

Familiar with nutrient management of the soil

Knowledge of curbing weeds

Familiar with the sports gear and maintaining a stock for the same

Basic knowledge of marking and goal setting for various sports

Equipped to use measuring devices such as measuring tapes, etc.

Knowledge of maintenance requirement of different sporting gear

Basic knowledge of playing different sports
