Certified training for Auto Component Assembly Fitter (programme aligned to ASC/Q 3701 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

Minimum 1-2 years? experience in assembly operations

The tasks an Auto Component Assembly Fitter is expected to perform include:

Preparing the machines, auxiliaries and work pieces for assembly

Ensuring that the material required is procured before starting the process

Operating various machine tools for mechanical and electrical assembly operations

Checking and cleaning the tools and equipment used

Inspecting the final product

Knowledge of the different types of assembling processes and associated equipment

Familiarity with the method of reading and interpreting the various gauges

Knowledge of conducting quality verification tests

Basic knowledge of the impact of various physical parameters on the properties of the final product output

Knowledge of the hazards and safety aspects involved in the assembling activities

Knowledge of the different equipment and components used in the assembly process

Familiarity with the different types of bolting guns/riveting guns used in the assembly process

Knowledge of the size of tightening tools (spanners, screw drivers, testers etc.) to be used

Basic knowledge of the component storage process

Familiarity with the numbering/identification nomenclature for various assembly and tightening equipment

Skilled in reading and interpreting torqueing charts and usage of torque meters

Knowledge of the different types of defects that may arise due to improper tightening and torqueing

Basic knowledge of fool proofing techniques employed in the assembly plants

Skilled in operating the equipment in automatic and manual mode

Manual dexterity

Training in:

Safety and 5S

Quality management and poke yoke practices

Usage of different tools for assembly operations

Basic vehicle testing tools and techniques

Problem-solving

Safety-oriented

Quality conscious

It is not a desk job

Needs to supervise a team of Helpers and Assistant Technicians

Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Working hours

Working is 9 hours everyday for 6 days a week
