Crane Driver, Diesel Electric

Preferably atleast 1-2 years of relevant work experience

The tasks a Crane Operator, Diesel / Electric is expected to perform include:

Operating diesel-electric powered (Tourna) crane mounted on pneumatic wheels to lift, carry and lower heavy goods from one place to another

Starting engine and driving vehicle to work site

Manipulating controls to position crane, crane job (boom) and lifting tackle so that load can be attached

Raising, moving and placing load in required position following signals from slinger or helpers

Ensuring proper operating and safety conditions as guided by signals from other workers

Lubricating moving parts, tightening nuts and bolts and performing other servicing tasks to keep equipment in good working order

Knowledge of minor running repairs

Will be updated

Strong sense of responsibility

Able to judge distance and estimate load size

Overview of the Indian Mining Sector

Indian mining sector is largely fragmented, comprising several small scale operational mines; it is still dominated by the mining industries both public and private, which accounts for about 75% of the total mining production in India.
