The tasks a Tractor Driver, Construction is expected to perform include:

Operating petrol or diesel powered tractor to haul vehicles or implements such as trailers, wagon, graders, etc. for pushing, pulling or moving goods and material or dumping earth

Checking engine oil, radiator water, diesel or petrol supply and other important greasing points of vehicles

Checking if brakes and pedals of vehicle are in good condition

Fastening attachments, such as graders, trailers, plows and rollers to tractor with hitch pins, releases brakes, shifts gears and depresses and accelerator or moving throttle to control forward and backward movement of machine

Steering the tractor by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals

Well-versed in coupling and uncoupling loads to and from tractor

Knowledge of lubricating and repairing tractor and attachments

Proficient in type of power utilised as diesel tractor operator or gasoline-tractor operator
