The tasks an Agriculture Extension Service Provider is expected to perform include:Holding discussions with the senior extension officers to plan where the services have to be provided

Taking inputs on what technologies are appropriate for a particular area

Preparing demonstrations and training

Interacting with the farmers of the chosen area

Understanding the components of farming like type of soil, climate, fertilisers, pesticides etc.Planning the timeframe of the meeting with the extension officers and the farmers

Knowledge of various scientific methods and technologies for increasing production

Basic knowledge of the geographical area under consideration

Familiar with soil tests

Basic knowledge of pests and diseases in the specific area

Familiar with various methods of irrigation

Knowledge of various methods of harvesting

Knowledge of documentation process

Knowledge of local languages
