Minimum Preferably 8th standard pass

Certified training for Room Attendant (programme aligned to THC/Q0202 released by Tourism and Hospitality Indian Skill Council)

Preferably 6 months of experience in the role of a Housekeeping attendant (manual cleaning)

The tasks a Room Attendant is expected to perform include:Identifying housekeeping requirements and procedures

Gathering resources for the guest rooms and defined areas

Completing assigned housekeeping tasks

Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness at the workplace

Knowledge of housekeeping standards required at the workplace

Well-versed with site layouts and obstacles

Proficient in inspecting a work area to decide what cleaning it needs and the best way of carrying this out

Knowledge of levels of personal hygiene and the importance of maintaining them during work

Well-versed with storage, service and upkeep procedure for housekeeping equipment and consumables

Proficient in cleaning the work area in the correct sequence

Adept at identifying the signs of pest infestation and the right action to take to deal with it

Well-versed with using different equipment for different cleaning tasks and the reasons for colour-coding

Knowledge of mixing the cleaning solutions correctly and safely and importance of following manufacturer?s instructions

Well-versed with types of problems one might come across while cleaning toilets and the ways to deal with it

Proficient in the ways of effective cleaning that helps with infection control

The employment in the hotel category (excluding motels along the highway) is forecasted to increase to over 2.9 million by 2018 and 4 million in 2022. This will create an incremental employment opportunity for Room Attendant.
