The tasks a Daftry is expected to perform include:

Supplying stationery articles to officials

Preparing envelopes, weighing and affixing postage stamps on outgoing dak

Binding registers, loose files, books, etc.

Helping record clerk in stitching papers or typing bundles and marking them or any other work

Performing other office miscellaneous work

Proficiency in sorting out files according to number or other distinguishing marks

Adept at arranging files in racks or other special receptacles in prescribed order or as instructed by record clerk

Well-versed with helping record clerk in entering inventory of stationery items in registers

Proficiency in supplying stationery articles or files to indenters as per the indent provided by record clerk

Knowledge of how to weigh covers of outgoing dak

Adept at affixing correct stamps on dak and fastening them for posting

Adept at attending to any other duties allotted

Knowledge of preparing new envelopes from rough paper and pasting economy slips

Ability to operate duplicating machine and cyclostyle required number of copies

Ability to supervise work of peons

Ability to focus for long hours

Diligent and hardworking

Good communication skills

Local travelling is not part of this job role

Working hours are 9/10 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company
