Preferred relevant work experience

The tasks a Medical Records and Health Information Technician is expected to perform include: Compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records Reporting patient information for health requirements

Knowledge to assemble health information

Well versed with medical terminology and usages

Competency in checking the related forms for required data

Knowledge of physiology, major anatomical systems, and related disease processes Proficiency in checking medical records Ability to correlate laboratory test results, procedures, and treatments Knowledge of computerized data entry and information processing systems

Knowledge about data collection methods for basic healthcare and research information

Knowledge of the healthcare industry?s numerical coding system

Well versed with maintaining the HIMS (Hospital Information Management System)Knowledge of computer applications like spreadsheets, Word, etc.Relevant professional qualifications
