Pharmaceutical Care Associate

Minimum 12th class pass in Science Certified training for Pharmacy Assistant (programme aligned to HSS/Q 5401 released by Healthcare Sector Skill Council)

Preferred relevant work experience

The tasks a Pharmacy Assistant is expected to perform include:

Performing multiple pharmacy-related functions

Referring any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information or health matters to a pharmacist

Reviewing prescriptions

Requesting for refills that are received from patients and nurses

Knowledge about how to read prescriptions Ability to review prescriptions for clarity of abbreviations, medical terminology, drug names, etc

Ability to identify if prescriptions are in the correct format and as per the protocols

Well versed with the procedure to consult a pharmacist

Proficiency in reviewing prescriptions for clarity

Familiarity with computer applications like spreadsheets, internal billing softwares, etc.Knowledge of dosage form, strength, manufacturer?s name and quantity to be dispensed

Team player Good mathematical and reading skills Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently Eye for detail

Presence of mind

Pharmacy facilities usually work for 6/7 days a week and 12/24 hours everyday. This may vary from hospital to hospital

Occupational hazards include exposure to various kinds of patients

For freshers - INR 8,000 to INR 9,000 per month For candidates with 4-6 yearsexperience - INR 25,000 to INR 40,000 per month(These figures are indicative and subject to change)
