The tasks a Supervisor and Foreman, Painting is expected to perform include:

Supervising sign writing and application of paint, varnish, distemper or lacquer on metal,wood, building, glass and other surfaces and ensuring correct finish

Examining the surface of structure or article to be worked upon and deciding shade and type of paint, mixture or varnish to be used according to specifications

Directing workers to smoothen surface to be painted or varnished to required finish by scrubbing chemical treatment or by polishing with emery or glass paper

Supervising preparation of base for spray and high class painting by application of putty on surface and its smoothening for applying first coat of paint

Guiding workers in mixing, straining of paints and varnishing to required shade and consistency

Supervises painting, smoothening and final polishing operations to ensure required glossand finish

Competent in co-ordinating and supervising activities

Proficiency in the various activities required for painting in the construction industry

Well-versed with the different types of shades, paints, mixtures, chemicals, etc.

Knowledge of mixing and straining paints and varnish

Knowledge of maintaining records

Proficient in keeping tools and equipment in working order

Knowledge of designing stencils for brush and screen-printing

Confidence and persistence

Working hours

Construction companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybe available

Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

For candidates with upto 2 years experience INR 17,000 to INR 20,500 per month

For candidates with 2 to 5 years experience INR 25,000 to INR 30,000 per month

For candidates with over 5 years experience INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per month
