Certified training for Draftsman (programme aligned to ELE/Q7101 released by Electronics Sector Skills Development Council)

The tasks a Draftsman is expected to perform include:Receiving control panel specification from the design engineer Developing drawings based on customer requirements for use in control panel assembly

Knowledge of electrical and electronics engineering

Familiarity with electrical relays and components used in the production process

Knowledge of properties of electrical and electronic components frequently used in the manufacturing process

Knowledge of wiring and circuit design

Familiarity with regulations, standards and codes of practice and their implications on the design drawing

Knowledge of basic power systems, motor fundamentals, drive system fundamentals

Knowledge of basic mechanical and structural engineering concepts

Knowledge of power electronics and motor cabling requirements

Competent in using CAD, Auto CAD, Pro E and other design and simulation software
