Growth of Pet Industry in India

According to a report by a global research firm,Euromonitor International, theIndian pet care marketis estimated to reach Rs 800 crore by 2015 from Rs368 crore in 2011.

The research also states that 'with pet ownership on rise, there will be a greater demand for pet care products. Consumers may trade up to premium products or specialised products, as they gain a better understanding of their pets' needs.

As pets become more important, demand for pet care is expected to become more sophisticated, with pet owners buying not just pet food, but also pet products to meet their needs for health care, grooming and leisure. These trends and the current demand for pets in India ensure more and further expanding employment opportunities for Animal Trainers in households, film industry, entertainment venues, etc.
