Work experience/internship in a related area of 0-2 years

The tasks a Product Executive is expected to perform include:Conducting research, representing and advocating products to the customers

Carrying out competitive landscape analysis

Developing partnership with third parties

Facilitating contractual, product positioning and pricing strategies

Knowledge of interpreting and following different design specifications including Business Requirements Specification(BRS), User Requirements Specification(URS), Software Requirements Specification(SRS), High Level Design(HLD)

Well-versed in designing basic program structures

Proficiency in designing software products

Adept with designing software applications

Knowledge of the different sources of information for help in designing software products and specifications

Well-versed in the range of equipment used to design software products and applications

Knowledge of the common design defects and how to resolve them

Adept with current practices in the infrastructure design of software products and applications

Proficiency in the range of activities involved in designing different software products and applications

Knowledge of testing new products and applications that are fit for the purpose

Adept with the implications that new products and applications may have on business processes and business infrastructure

Knowledge of the different processes involved in collecting effective data or information

Well-versed with the importance of recording data or information accurately for research and analysis

Proficiency in the different methods used to interpret the market or industry trends and how to select the methods best suited to the work being carried out

Adept with current practices in conducting market research and analysis

Growth in Software Products of IT Sector in India

Software products form the fastest growing segment of the global IT industry, with the software spends forecast to grow from USD 294 billion in FY 2008 to USD 537 billion in 2015. Over the same period, the addressable market for Indian software product businesses is estimated to reach USD 290 to 315 billion. The next decade will play a crucial role in bringing about disruptive growth for the Indian Software Products segment, and the annual revenue aggregate of this segment is forecast to grow from USD 1.4 billion in FY 2008 to USD 9.5 to 12 billion by FY 2015. Over the past 3 years, the annual revenue aggregate of Indian software product businesses has grown at a CAGR of 44%.

The growth is likely to be in the areas of Business Intelligence (BI), Enterprise Resource Management (ERM), Storage, Security, BFSI, telecom, healthcare, retail, search engine marketing, mobile applications, social networking, and online gaming.

In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.
