The tasks a Director, Disaster Management Services is expected to perform include:

Directing and co-ordinating the regional programme activities of various agency

Providing specialized human services, such as water safety programmes, disaster relief and emergency transportation

Consulting with co-operating agencies, such as police, fire-fighters and emergency ambulance services

Participating in the programme activities to serve clients of agency

Preparing the budgets to control costs

Allocating the funds in accordance with provisions and agency charter

Instructing the agency staff and volunteers in the skills they require to provide services

Arranging for maintenance of equipment, such as two way radios and agency vehicles

Co-ordinating the services to disaster victims and safety programmes, such as water safety and emergency first aid

Co-ordinating the transportation of agency clients, blood and medical supplies and equipment

Skilled in co-ordinating the regional programme activities of various agencies

Skilled in co-ordinating with police, fire-fighters and emergency ambulance services

Proficient in preparing budgets to control costs
