The tasks of an Elected Official, Local Bodies is expected to perform include:

Serving in various capacities in policy making and executive branches of local bodies

Taking part in making and amending local laws pertaining to and in respect of matters entrusted to local bodies

Representing interests of electors in local bodies and committees

Needs to be a citizen of India

Should not be less than 21 years of age

Knowledge of constitution of India

Proficient in working under different bodies like Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Parishad, Nagar Palika, etc.

Prior experience in politics

Ability to determine and define government policies

For Zilla Parishad Chairman - INR 7,500 per month

For Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members - INR 2,250 per month
