Funeral Service Workers pathway consists of professionals who organize and conduct funerals and preparing remains for burial or cremations. Responsibilities include helping to determine the dates, locations, and times of visitations (wakes), arranging memorial services, preparation of bodies for interment in conformity with legal requirements, selection of pallbearers and assisting families in the selection of officials for religious rites. They also perform a variety of small tasks during funerals such as arranging floral offerings or lights around casket, directing and escorting mourners, placing casket in parlor or chapel prior to service etc.
